Autodesk Envision 8 Service Pack 1 README ================================ Notice to Autodesk Envision 8 Customers ================================ In a continuing effort to provide high-quality products, Autodesk has released Autodesk Envision 8 Service Pack 1. This README file highlights how to download and install the service pack. ========== CONTENTS ========== - Installation Instructions - Issues Addressed in this Service Pack ========================== INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS ========================== NOTE: ** Autodesk Envision 8 must be installed before you can install Autodesk Envision 8 Service Pack 1, and you must have Administrator privileges on your local machine to install the service pack. ** 1. Download the Autodesk Envision 8 Service Pack 1 executable file, ENV8_SP1.exe. 2. Double-click the downloaded file. This begins the installation of Autodesk Envision 8 Service Pack 1, which may take up to five minutes. Please note the following: - You can verify the build number by choosing Help -> About Autodesk Envision. - During installation, the installer may request the original Autodesk Envision 8 CD. This can be the actual CD you used to install Autodesk Envision 8, or you can browse to a network location that has a copy of the CD. - You will see a progress meter on your screen while the setup program is updating the files on your system. - When you have finished installing the service pack, you can delete the downloaded file. 3. Autodesk strongly recommends that you restart your system after the service pack has been installed. *For final verification, from within the program choose "About Autodesk Envision" from the Help menu. If Autodesk Envision 8 Service Pack 1 has been successfully installed, the product build will read "Version 8.0.0.1195" ===================================== ISSUES ADDRESSED IN THIS SERVICE PACK ===================================== 1. Draped layers that were not displayed during playback of an animation are now displayed. 2. Strings containing spaces can now be properly edited using the Data Explorer | Basic Filter. 3. If the same ID is used for entities of different feature types, the Information task now highlights the appropriate entity. 4. Moving layers between different groups in the Layer task now updates the display for visibility changes. 5. The responsiveness of the “Surface Analysis - Flood" task pane has been improved when working with large datasets. 6. DEM files containing the special value “-32767” are now read correctly. 7. The issue causing only a portion of a terrain to be printed has been addressed. 8. Several issues regarding the Surface Visualization task pane have been addressed. 9. The responsiveness of the viewing tools (Pan, Zoom, and Orbit) has been improved. NOTE: The above list is a subset of the resolved issues and the performance improvements made in this service pack.
